Communicant Members
ARE - Those who have been received by the Kirk Session
onto the communion roll either by profession of faith
or by transfer from another congregation.
The Profession and Promises of communicant members:-
{ My profession of faith. I have received Jesus Christ
to be my Saviour and the Lord of my life.
{ My Promise - Since Jesus Christ the Eternal Son of
God dwells in me by the Holy Spirit
I shall endeavour with His help:
to be open to God's will for my life.
to live in fellowship with Him through daily prayer
and Bible Study.
to obey and honour God in my daily life
and to witness for Him by what I say and how I live.
to be regular in attendance at worship and at the
Lord's table.
to be active in the life and work of my own church,
to be loyal to it's leadership and to support it financially
and in every other way I can.
to play my full part in God's mission to the world.
(from PCI booklet 'what it means to be a communicant
')
CARE - Communicant members will be placed in
Districts. We will seek to provide pastoral care through
visitation of Elders, annual visitation by Minister
and additional visitation according to particular spiritual
needs.
RESPONSIBILITY - Communicant Members promise
to support the church by giving of time, talents and
finance. As health and circumstances permit they should
be in attendance at weekly worship, will be given FWO
envelopes and be encouraged to commit to at least one
sphere of service in the congregation.
REVIEW - We are required, by the church code,
to review the Communicants roll each year. Should a
communicant member cease to be involved in, and/or contribute
to, the congregation, the Kirk Session should discuss
this with them and seek to help them to renew their
commitment.
TRANSFER - When members permanently move away
we will encourage them to be a member of a congregation
which they can both attend and be involved in. This
may mean that they transfer their membership to another
congregation.
