Prayer Diary
May 2008
"Make this your common practice:
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other
so that you can live together whole and healed. The prayer
of a person living right with God is something powerful

Thurs 1st
Pray for Rev Ivor Smith this
week as he covers for Rev Curry's holidays and for his continued
health and strength to serve God.
Fri 2nd
Lord we pray for spiritual revival within
our congregation, we thank you for all who have come to
know you as Saviour and Redeemer in recent times, we pray
also for those currently going through the battle of conviction
that they will come too know you as Saviour and Master.

Sat 3rd
Pray for our young people especially those
in their teenage years that there might be a concern for
their salvation among them. Pray for those who are at a
point of decision that they might have the courage to turn
to Christ and take their stand for Him. Pray for their Sunday
School, Bible Class and Youth Club leaders.
Sun 4th
Pray for Mr Noel Mulholland as takes the
morning service and Rev Smith in the evening Service.
Mon 5th
Pray for Rev Curry and the ongoing ministerial
guidance, support and teaching which he seeks to give. Pray
for a time of spiritual and physical refreshment during
this week.
Tue 6th
Pray for all who come along to the Friendly
Hour today and who help and for Rev Smith as he speaks this
month.
Wed 7th
Pray for the work of Revival Movement Association.
Give thanks for the recent purchase of a new gospel literature
factory. Pray for finance to provide for the building work
required & also for the ongoing costs of printing and
shipping gospel literature.
Thurs 8th
Give thanks for those who help in so many
practical ways in church. Pray for the new Committee working
Groups as they oversee the practical work in the congregation
Fri 9th
Pray for the Healing the Land outreach (12-14th
Jun) in Desertmartin (organised by local Christians). Speaker
Angus Buchan (South Africa). Pray that God will use this
event to draw many to hear the gospel and that many might
trust in Christ.
Sat 10th
Pray for the youth club and the Girls Night/Boys
Night tonight. Pray for the need for more leaders to commit
on a more frequent basis to the club (especially female
leaders) to be able to build relationships with the thirty
plus young people who come along.
Sun 11th
Pray for the preaching of God's Word each
and every Sunday. Pray for a listening ear and a receiving
heart for God's word. Pray that many would respond to Christ's
call for discipleship. Also for all communicant members
as they come to communion as an act of rededication of their
lives to the service of Christ.
Mon 12th
Pray for Bible Study Groups meeting this
week. Pray for those who attend who do not as yet know Christ
that they might be given the faith to believe God's word
and come to trust in Him.
Tue 13th
Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill
Pray for the staff of The Christian Institute as they work
on this Bill. Pray for those pro-life MPs and organizations
who are working to protect the status of the human embryo.

Wed 14th
Give thanks for CD ministry and those who
deliver the CDs each week. Pray that God might bless those
who listen to the CDs. Pray for a team to oversee the Audio
/ Visual equipment.
Thur 15th
Pray for 1 / 2 Sunday School teachers
next September to be able to replace Vanessa and reduce
class sizes. Pray for all the teachers in their preparation
and teaching of the children.
Fri 16th
As changes are made to our educational
systems and selection processes pray that those in the corridors
of power will be blessed with spiritual power and guidance
in their decision making process. Pray that church involvement
will be maintained in whatever changes are put in place.
Sat 17th
Pray for young people today who face increasing
pressure to compromise their moral and social behaviour.
Pray for those who are already addicted to drugs and alcohol
that they might seek help and be enabled find a new and
better way in Christ. Pray too for wisdom as teenagers use
the internet that they would use it safely and appropriately.
Sun 18th
We pray Lord for the bereaved within our
Congregation that as they travel through the valley of the
shadow you will grant them grace in abundance and courage
and strength to face the future.
Mon 19th
World Vision Thank God for the good rains
and bumper harvests over the last two years and for improved
living standards in communities working with World Vision.
Pray that flooding that has troubled much of Southern Africa
does not devastate the good work of many years. Pray that
all the education and training given to the young people
reduces infections.
Tue 20th
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and
in his mighty power. Put on the full armour of God so that
you can take your stand against the devil's schemes"
Pray for all who are facing a spiritual battle in their
lives that they might be strengthened in God's power and
know His peace. Pray for God's protection day by day.
Wed 21st
Open Doors Pray for the Church in Algeria.
27 of the 32 Protestant churches have already been closed
down since Nov 07. Pray that Christians who are now 'churchless'
can continue to meet as Secret Believers. Pray too that
the Spirit of Revival that is evident in this country would
continue to be poured out in spite of the increasingly hostile
environment
Thur 22nd
Pray for all students as they embark on
intermediate, higher and university exams, that they will
be given the knowledge, skills, ability and dedication to
achieve what their career goals may be. Also remember the
congregation as we meet for the monthly prayer time tonight.
Fri 23rd
Pray for ACE event @ Springhill that it
might be well attended and that it may be a good opportunity
for befriending and encouraging those who come along.
Sat 24th
Pray for Stephen and Hester Clarke as they
continue to make preparations for Mollies Mission that God
would guide them and help them focus on His will. Pray that
the fundraising CD "We must go" might be a blessing
to many.
Sun 25th
Pray for the Sunday School as they practice for the Children's
Day and Cheryl who prepares for this.
Mon 26th
Pray for Maureen Stevenson as she returns today to visit Livingstonia,
Malawi, She will be there for the next six weeks.
Tue 27th
Faith Mission Gospel Mission 25th - 6th June Pray for a
good attendance at these meetings and for God's spirit to
draw people to himself. Pray for Jonathan Burke as he visits
homes that he might have opportunities to share the gospel.
Wed 28th
Pray for those members of our Congregation who are currently
unwell, awaiting results of tests or are convalescing at
home that they might experience God's healing touch. Pray
too for our medical teams who administer care and help to
those suffering that they may have wisdom & strength.
Thur 29th
Pray the Bible Study Groups as they meet together for the
last study. Give thanks for the fellowship enjoyed this
term and pray that increasing numbers will benefit from
being part of a 'Small Group' in the coming year.
Fri 30th
"Every Christian must see themselves as the link to
the next generation" William Barclay. Pray for a vision
for us as a congregation to pray, to encourage and enable
our young people to follow Christ and that in time some
might also become leaders and disciplers of others.
Sat 31st
Pray for the PWA as they travel up to Londonderry on their
trip. Pray for the Flower Festival in Kilfennan that they
will visit that it might be a blessing and a challenge to
all who come along.
